Are my images uploaded to a server?+
No. All resizing happens in your browser using the Canvas API. Your images never leave your device, making this tool safe for confidential or personal photos.
Does resizing affect image quality?+
Downsizing (making smaller) preserves quality well. Upsizing (making larger) may cause slight blurriness since the tool cannot add detail that was not in the original. For best results, start with the highest resolution source available.
Is transparency preserved for PNG images?+
Yes. PNG images maintain their transparent areas during resizing. The tool detects PNG format and uses the appropriate output format to preserve the alpha channel.
What does the aspect ratio lock do?+
When locked, changing the width automatically calculates the proportional height (and vice versa). This prevents your image from being stretched or squished. Unlock it to set arbitrary dimensions.
What output format is used?+
PNG inputs are saved as PNG to preserve transparency. JPEG and WebP inputs are saved as WebP for optimal file size. All outputs maintain high quality at 92% compression.
Is there a file size limit?+
No. The tool processes images entirely in your browser memory. Modern devices can easily handle images up to 50+ megapixels. Very large images may take a moment to process.
