SlapMyWeb takes a different approach. The majority of our PDF tools run entirely in your browser using open-source JavaScript libraries: pdf-lib for creating and modifying PDFs, and Mozilla's pdf.js for rendering and text extraction. These files physically cannot leave your device.
For features that require a conversion engine — like Word to PDF, Excel to PDF, and PowerPoint conversions — we use server-side LibreOffice processing. Files are processed in an isolated temporary directory and deleted immediately after conversion. We do not store, analyze, or retain any uploaded documents.
For businesses handling sensitive data — legal firms, healthcare providers, financial institutions — our client-side tools eliminate data handling risk entirely. Our server-side tools minimize it with instant deletion and no persistent storage.
