What is Online PDF Reader?

Online PDF Reader is a free tool that lets you read PDF documents directly in your web browser without installing any software. Upload a PDF and browse through pages with smooth navigation, zoom in and out for detail, search for specific text across all pages, and use fullscreen mode for comfortable reading. Keyboard shortcuts (arrow keys, Ctrl+F) make navigation fast. Everything runs client-side — your files stay on your device.

How to Use Online PDF Reader

    Click the upload area or drag and drop any PDF file. The first page renders immediately.

    Use the arrow buttons, type a page number, or press arrow keys on your keyboard to move between pages.

    Click the zoom buttons or use the Fit button to reset. The zoom percentage is shown in the toolbar.

    Click the search icon or press Ctrl+F. Type your query and results show which pages contain your text.

    Go fullscreen

    Click the fullscreen button for a distraction-free reading experience. Press Escape to exit.

This is a read-only viewer. To edit, use our PDF Editor to add text, images and shapes.
How does text search work?+
The tool extracts text content from each page using pdf.js. It searches all pages and shows which ones contain your query with a snippet preview.
Are my files safe?+
Yes. The PDF is loaded entirely in your browser. No files are uploaded to any server.
Can I view password-protected PDFs?+
PDFs with user passwords may not open. Use our PDF Unlocker first to remove the password, then view the unlocked file.
What is the maximum file size?+
No hard limit. Very large PDFs (100+ MB) may be slow since everything loads into browser memory.
Does it support scanned PDFs?+
Scanned PDFs will display the page images but text search will not work since the text is embedded as an image. Use our PDF OCR tool to extract text from scanned documents.
Can I print from the viewer?+
You can use your browser's print function (Ctrl+P) to print the page currently displayed.
Is there a mobile version?+
