What is PDF Cropper?

PDF Cropper is a free online tool that lets you visually trim the edges of PDF pages. Upload a document, drag the crop rectangle to select the area you want to keep, and download a cropped PDF. Quick margin presets (5%, 10%, 15%, 20%) make it easy to remove standard whitespace. The crop applies to all pages uniformly. Ideal for removing printer margins, cutting out headers and footers, or trimming scanned documents. Runs entirely in your browser.

How to Use PDF Cropper

    Upload your PDF

    Click the upload area or drag and drop a PDF file. The first page renders as a visual preview.

    Adjust the crop area

    Drag the red rectangle to position the crop. Use corner handles to resize. Or click a margin preset (5-20%).

    Preview the selection

    The darkened area outside the rectangle will be removed. The percentage dimensions are shown in the corner.

    Crop

    Click Crop All Pages or press Ctrl+Enter. The same crop area is applied to every page in the document.

    Download

    Download the cropped PDF. Page content outside the crop area is hidden.

Does cropping permanently remove content?+
Cropping sets a CropBox which hides content outside the area. The hidden content is not rendered or printed but technically still exists in the file. For permanent removal, use our PDF Flattener after cropping.
Is the same crop applied to all pages?+
Yes. The crop area you set on the preview is applied uniformly to every page. This works well for documents with consistent margins.
Can I set different crops per page?+
Not in this tool. For per-page cropping, use our PDF Splitter to extract individual pages, crop each one, then merge them back.
Are my files safe?+
Yes. Everything processes in your browser. No files are uploaded to any server.
What are the margin presets?+
Presets trim a percentage from all four edges: 5% removes thin margins, 10% is standard, 15% for wider margins, 20% for aggressive trimming.
Can I crop a scanned document?+
Yes. The tool works with any PDF content. Scanned pages, text documents, and mixed content all crop the same way.
Will this reduce file size?+
Slightly. The CropBox metadata is small, but viewers may optimize rendering of the hidden content. For significant size reduction, combine with our PDF Compressor.
Can I undo the crop?+
The original file is never modified. Re-upload it to start fresh. If you have the cropped version, some PDF editors can remove the CropBox to restore the full page.
