PDF Form Filler

Detect and fill interactive PDF form fields — text, checkboxes, dropdowns and radio buttons.

100% Client-Side — files never leave your device

What is PDF Form Filler?

PDF Form Filler is a free online tool that detects and fills interactive form fields in PDF documents. Upload a PDF with AcroForm fields and the tool automatically finds all text inputs, checkboxes, dropdown menus and radio buttons. Fill in the values using a clean, accessible form interface, then download the completed PDF. Optionally flatten the form to lock values and prevent further editing. No printing, scanning or special software needed — runs entirely in your browser.

How to Use PDF Form Filler

  1. 1

    Upload a PDF form

Click the upload area or drag and drop a PDF file that contains interactive form fields.

  2. 2

    Review detected fields

The tool scans the PDF and lists all form fields with their types: text, checkbox, dropdown, radio.

  3. 3

    Fill in values

Type text, check boxes, select dropdown options, or choose radio buttons. All fields are labeled with their PDF field names.

  4. 4

    Optional: flatten

Enable Flatten to make the filled form non-editable. This locks your values into the PDF permanently.

  5. 5

    Download

Click Fill & Download to get your completed PDF form. It includes all filled values.

Frequently Asked Questions

What types of form fields are supported?+
The tool supports AcroForm fields: text inputs, checkboxes, dropdown menus and radio button groups. XFA forms (used by some older Adobe forms) are not supported.
What if my PDF has no form fields?+
The tool will show a clear message saying no interactive fields were found. In that case, use our PDF Editor to add text on top of the document.
What does flatten mean?+
Flattening converts interactive form fields into static content. The filled values become part of the page and cannot be changed. Use this when you want to lock the form.
Are my files safe?+
Yes. Everything runs in your browser using pdf-lib. No files are sent to any server.
Can I fill a password-protected form?+
The tool attempts to open password-protected PDFs, but locked forms may not allow editing. Use our PDF Unlocker first if needed.
Will filling preserve my digital signatures?+
Modifying form fields invalidates existing digital signatures. This is expected — any change to a signed PDF breaks the signature.
Can I prefill forms with data from a spreadsheet?+
Not currently. This tool provides a manual fill interface. For bulk form filling, you would need a programmatic solution.
What about dropdown fields with no options?+
If a dropdown has no predefined options in the PDF, it will appear empty. You can still select from whatever options are available in the PDF form definition.
