What is Image Watermark?

An image watermark tool adds visible text or logo branding to photographs and designs to protect intellectual property, establish ownership, and discourage unauthorized use. This tool supports both text and logo/image watermarks with full control over position (five presets plus tiled repeat), font family (sans-serif, serif, monospace, cursive), rotation angle (-180 to 180 degrees), font size, color, and opacity — all with a live preview that updates in real time. The tiled mode covers the entire image with repeated watermarks for maximum protection. Logo mode lets you upload your own image or brand mark as the watermark, with adjustable scale. All processing happens in your browser using the Canvas API — your images are never uploaded to any server, making this ideal for confidential work or sensitive client photos. Whether you are a photographer protecting proofs, a designer sharing previews, or a content creator branding your visuals, this watermark tool handles it without expensive software or subscriptions.

How to Use Image Watermark

Frequently Asked Questions

What opacity should I use?+
For proofs and previews, 30-50% opacity is visible without obscuring the image. For strong branding, use 60-80%. For subtle branding on portfolio images, 20-30% works well. Experiment to find the right balance for your use case.
Can I add an image watermark instead of text?+
Yes! Switch to Logo mode using the toggle at the top. Upload any image (PNG with transparency works best) and adjust the scale slider to control its size relative to your base image.
How does tiled watermark work?+
Click the Tile button to repeat your watermark across the entire image in a grid pattern. This provides maximum protection against cropping. Combined with rotation (try -30 or -45 degrees), tiled watermarks are very effective for proof images.
Where should I position the watermark?+
Bottom-right is the most common position as it is visible without distracting from the main content. Center placement provides the strongest protection against cropping. For maximum protection, use the tiled option.
Can the watermark be removed?+
Text watermarks applied to raster images are permanently embedded in the pixels. While advanced image editing tools can attempt removal, especially for semi-transparent watermarks, center or tiled placement makes this significantly harder.
Is there a limit on image size?+
No. The tool processes images of any size in your browser memory. Large images may take a moment to process but there are no artificial limits.
Is my image uploaded to a server?+
No. All watermarking happens in your browser using the Canvas API. Your images never leave your device, making this safe for confidential client work.
