An SEO audit for a startup answers a narrower question than a full site audit: is anything structurally stopping this site from ranking, before there is enough content or authority for ranking to be the constraint? At launch the failures are almost always technical and binary — a staging noindex, an unreachable sitemap, JavaScript-only content.

What you get

Everything the job
actually needs

Pre-launch audit

Pressure-test your landing page before Product Hunt day. Catch the obvious wins.

Post-launch monitoring

Track score changes over time. Bisect which deploy broke your CWV.

Conversion-focused

We grade what matters: page speed, mobile UX, schema. Not vanity metrics.

AI roast as marketing

Tweet your roast. The Roman-Hindi voice is built for virality — devs share audits that make them laugh.

No credit card

Sign up with email, run scans immediately. Upgrade only when you need more volume.

Indie-friendly pricing

Pro starts at just a few dollars a month. Less than your Notion subscription, way more useful for SEO.

The pre-launch and early-stage checklist

A new site has no authority, so nothing here will make it rank quickly. What this list prevents is the opposite: launching with something that makes ranking impossible for months, and only discovering it after the traffic never arrives.

  1. The staging noindex

The single most common launch failure. A robots meta tag or X-Robots-Tag header left from the staging environment keeps the entire site out of the index indefinitely, and nothing about the site looks wrong. Check the served headers on the live domain the day you launch.

  2. One canonical hostname

Decide between apex and www, and between trailing slash and not, then redirect everything else once. Serving both means every page has a duplicate from day one.

  3. Content in the HTML

If the site is a single-page application, server-render it. A crawler that sees an empty shell has nothing to index, and an early-stage site has no authority to compensate.

  4. A sitemap generated from real content

Generate it from your published pages rather than maintaining it by hand, so it cannot drift. Submit it in both Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools — Bing is materially easier to rank on for a new domain.

  5. Analytics and Search Console before launch, not after

Search Console only reports from the day it is verified. Verifying late means permanently losing the baseline you would want to compare against.

  6. One page per intent

Early sites usually have too few pages, then suddenly too many that overlap. Decide what each page is for before writing it; merging later costs redirects and rankings.

  7. Expect months, not weeks

Technical correctness is table stakes. A new domain with no links ranks for its brand name and long-tail phrasings first; everything else follows authority, which is the slow part.

The deliverable

One score, one verdict, one list to work through

Every audit lands as a report you can hand straight to whoever asked for it — a weighted score, a plain-English verdict, and issues ranked by the points each one costs. Export it as a PDF, share it as a link, or pull it through the API.
