What is Image Blur Tool?
An image blur tool applies gaussian blur to smooth out details in a photograph or graphic. Blurring is useful for hiding sensitive information (faces, license plates, text), creating background effects for design, softening harsh edges, or adding artistic depth-of-field effects. This tool supports two modes: full-image blur which applies the effect evenly across the entire image, and region-selective blur which lets you draw a rectangle around the specific area you want to blur while keeping the rest of the image sharp. The blur radius controls the intensity — higher values create a stronger, more diffused blur. Everything runs in your browser using the Canvas API with CSS filter blur, so your images are never uploaded to any server. The download produces a full-resolution PNG regardless of the preview size, ensuring you get the highest quality output.
How to Use Image Blur Tool

Choose blur mode and radius
Select Full to blur the entire image, or Region to draw a rectangle around the area you want to blur. Adjust the blur radius slider from 1px (subtle) to 50px (heavy blur).

In Region mode, click and drag on the image to draw a rectangle. Only the selected area will be blurred. The dashed pink border shows your selection.

Click Download to save the blurred image as a full-resolution PNG file. The preview may appear smaller, but the download preserves the original image dimensions.
