What happens to transparent areas in my PNG?

JPG does not support transparency. Transparent areas are filled with the background color you choose (white by default). You can change this to any color using the color picker — for example, use black for dark-themed images or match your website background color.

What quality setting should I use?

For most use cases, 85-95% gives excellent visual quality with significant file size reduction. For web images where speed matters, 75-85% is a good balance. Below 70% you may notice visible compression artifacts, especially around text and sharp edges.
