What is Title Tag Checker?
A title tag is the strongest single on-page signal you control, and it is the line a person reads before deciding whether to click.
Google truncates it on rendered width, not character count, which is why "Illinois Insurance" and "lllllllll lllllllll" behave completely differently at the same length. This checker estimates the rendered width of your title, tells you whether it will be cut off in the results, and flags the two things that quietly waste that width: the same word appearing more than once, and a string of separators where two segments and a brand would do.
How to use Title Tag Checker
- 1
Fetch or paste
Enter a URL to read the live page, or paste the HTML if the page is not published yet.
- 2
Read the width, not the length
The result is an estimate in pixels, because that is how Google decides where to cut.
- 3
Front-load what matters
If it will be truncated, the end is what disappears. Move the important words to the start rather than simply deleting.
- 4
Check the repeats
A word appearing twice in a title is nearly always an accident, and it costs you width you do not have.
