What is Image Alt Text Checker?
Every <img> needs an alt attribute, but not every image needs a description.
An image that carries meaning needs alt text saying what it conveys; an image that is purely decorative needs alt="", which tells a screen reader to skip it entirely. Those two are opposites, and a checker that reports them the same way sends people off to write alt text for spacer graphics. This one keeps them apart: a missing attribute is a defect, an empty one is a decision. It also flags the alt text that is really a filename, because "hero-2.png" announced aloud is worse than silence.
